How Green Enchantments Started

Hello and Welcome to Green Enchantments!

I founded this business through a sudden need for soul searching for understanding the world around me. As many of us have experienced, the pandemic created an unknown anxiety that left me feeling numb and hopeless. I am an individual who works in the healthcare industry as an Occupational Therapist (OT). The whole aspect of my job is to promote function and increase quality of life; however, losing residents so rapidly because of COVID-19, which impacted my own self-care. I became hyper-aware and sensitive towards the push of modern and western medicine on our society for these quick fixes or trailed medications with significant side effects rather than a holistic approach on preventative measures causing great distress to the people I cared for–including my residents. Mind you, modern medicine does have its amazing advances such as necessary surgeries, because no herb in this world is gonna fix your femur that’s sticking out of your skin, my dear! The point I am getting at here is that I essentially was tired of allowing myself to fall into the same routine every day that was causing me to draw into the tide of the biomechanical paradigm. It was time for a change!

Through a chance encounter with a fellow pagan store owner, I was introduced to the amazing opportunity to enroll in online herbal schooling taught by one of the pioneers of holistic herbal remedies, Rosemary Gladstar. I never thought going back to school would be as exciting as it turned out to be, but I felt the light that had dwindled began to burn bright once more. Yes, dramatic, but true to the spiritual awakening this path has led me down. And no, this is not because of the new change in approach–though important. It is because of the alignment in the importance of the holistic output between the mind, the body, and the spirit (surprise, you have a spirit aka your soul, lucky you!).

Green Enchantment's goal is to bring forth not only integration of the mind and body, but the importance of a healthy spiritual sense of self, regardless of faith or religion. It’s to educate and create a community together to grow back into their roots for a better understanding of one’s own self and needs, not to always rely on the perspectives of others. Green Enchantment is where Mother Nature welcomes you home to remind you to take a step back and smell the flowers…or drink them! ​​
